Walking with Ruben Llamas

Back in April I received a call from Ruben Llamas. He had seen an article in the San Francisco Chronicle about my Oakland Neighborhood Project and wanted to reach out to me. Boy am I glad he did. Not only did I get to read his memoir of growing up in West Oakland, but I also got to meet Ruben and his wife when Ruben did a walking tour of his childhood neighborhood. Here are some photos from that day. By the way, that first photo features Ron Houseman, Monsignor Tony Valdivia and Ruben himself.
